Internship #Day1

Hello guys! How was your week? So much happend since the last post I made...

If you don't have a clue of what the heck I'm talking about, I suggest you guys read my previous posts, but basically I'm in a internship in Porto Santo as a receptionist at the Hotel Porto Santo & Spa for two months.

First of all, I had my first airplane trip. I wasn't really scared of the trip herself, it was more the stress of the airport because as you guys know, I'm a little scared of crowds. l was also a little scared about the landing, but the pilot made sure to make the smoothness landing in the world.
I arrived two days before my internship started so it gave me plenty of time to get to know the island. It is the most calm and paradise island that I ever came across. Seriously, guys, you must come here. The people, the food and the beaches are the best. And it has some great hotels too! (but if you ever come, come to mine, ahahah) .
So today was my first day of work and I absolutely loved it. I was so nervous but now I don't know why! My coworkers are the best, they explain me everything in the most gentle and calm way. There were some bits of my morning when I was a little more quiet because I didn't know how to do the same thing as the others, but I easily get the hang of it. It was pretty fun and I already made some friends! And tips!
The most difficult thing is being away of my family and friends. Its two months without seeing them, only by Skype. But the secret is talking with them everyday and sooner that I think I will be back home. However, the people who work in the hotel are all kind and very well welcoming, so being part of this huge family helps me out a lot.

I hope you enjoyed this post about my first day of my internship. Thank you so much for reading it! If you have any questions please do it in the comment section below! Have a nice weekend!

First time in an airplane

Hey guys! How's everything going? Not going to lie, I miss writing... But in these couple of days I've been trying to enjoy my last days of vacation and preparing myself for a huge deal in my life: travel by airplane.
Now I know, that some of you may find that this isn't a big deal, but for me it is. One of the things that I wanted to do was actually being in a airplane. However, I never saw that opportunity happend, mainly because I didn't know where to travel and I didn't have the money. I actually never been scared of airplanes so my anxiety never pulled me back in this situation.
As I said, in a previews post, this summer I'm going to travel to Porto Santo, to do a internship in a Hotel Porto Santo & Spa. The journey only takes one hour and half (maximum two hours) but the thing that is scaring me is the fact that I'm going alone. I mean, there's going to be plenty of people in the airplane, but no one that I know. No boyfriend, no family, no friends. Just me.
So I made a list with some things that I'm going to take with me to distract myself of this nerves.
  1.  Grab a good book: To this trip I'm going to take "The One" by Kiera Cass. Its is the third book of the Selection series. Which by the way is now one of my favorite series of all time.
  2.  Music: Nothing calms me down like a good old playlist. So to this trip my headphones are going to be my life savior.
  3.  Games: I'm going to make sure to install all types of games in my phone.
So that is all from me today. I hope you guys enjoyed this post and find it helpful. If you have any tips that can help make a airplane journey more calming please share it in the comment section below!

My secret

Hello guys! I hope everything is fine and you guys are having a great week so far.
In this post I'm going to talk about a more serious subject, which is a thing that I have been trying to understand and learn how to control it. Only a few friends of my  knows about this, not even my family knows.

I'm talking about anxiety. Luckily, I'm not one of those people who constantly have panic attacks or feel anxious, but in certain cases I do feel like that.

I think all started when I was applying to college. My grades weren't the best, I didn't know what to do with my life or what I wanted to do and I started to feel the pressure of my parents and friends. Those weeks were the worst weeks of my life. I cried all the time, I feeling frustrated, I hated myself, etc... however, I got help from one person: my boyfriend. He always knew what to do to call me down and distract me from all of this negativity and I believe that if wasn't him, I would be in worse shape.
Nowadays, I still have a few panic attacks if I'm put in some pressure situations or if I get really nervous or scared. Strangely school doesn't affect me at all. Its more like situations with friends and family issues. Despite all this I'm happy to say that everyday is own battle for me. Because, regarding all of this, I feel less and less anxious and more happy and exited to experience new things in my life.

So that is all from me today. I hope you guys still enjoyed this post although it was a serious one. If you have a secret of your own, and you feel like sharing, please do it in the comment section below!

Summer is finally here

Summer is finally out! School its over and its time to do all the things that you left apart because of the pressure of school works, tests and exams. For me, there's nothing better than the beggining of summer. I feel that this is the only time that I can finally rest with my family and friends. It is that time of the year where the weather is warm (specially here, in Portugal), we can travel to places that we wanted to visited, going to the beach or to the pool with friends, the music festivals, (you guys get the memo).
Well, for me, as a Tourism student, summer means work. This is the first time that I will work in my summer holidays. Where you ask? In Porto Santo, Madeira! A couple of days ago I received and email from my school asking if I wanted to do a traineeship in the Hotel Porto Santo & Spa and of course I said yes! This is my first year in college and then, one morning, I received this huge oportunity. I was as happy as you can get.
However, I'm still going to enjoy this couple of weeks of vacation, 'till I go to Porto Santo. I want to do everything that I possible can, so you guys wish me luck!

What about you guys? What's your plans for this summer? Let me know in the comments below!
